Activities

Our activities are based on experiences of gender, race, and sexual citizenship. These dimensions permit the analysis of structures of inequality that present as fundamental conditions of social and personal vulnerability. In this sense, it is necessary to tackle the development of work on Public Policy, Human Rights, Right to Health, Gender Relations, Youth, and Identity politics, as a strategy to strengthen the citizenship of HIV-positive individuals and those populations which are most vulnerable.

GESTOS' activities include:

- Psychosocial consultation and legal advice for HIV-positive individuals

- Incentive for Adhesion to Treatment - group work

- Attention for the children of people with HIV

- Incentive for the training of support networks for people with HIV

- Inclusion of HIV-positive individuals in educational campaigns

- The training of youth educators in sexual and reproductive rights

- Qualification in advocacy campaigns for HIV-positive individuals

- Advising on public policies related to HIV/AIDS and the health of women and adolescents

- Improved monitoring of women"s health policies

- The promotion of political education campaigns

- Monitoring United Nations Resolutions on AIDS (Latin America)

- Monitoring goals on sexual and reproductive health set out in the United Nations declarations on HIV and AIDS (Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Venezuela, Chile, Peru, Nicaragua, Belize, Mexico, the Ukraine, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Uganda, South Africa, Kenya)
